Cornjerker T-Shirt Historically Inaccurate

I recently bought a Cornjerker t-shirt that says ‘Hoopeston Area Est. 1965′ on the front, and ‘Cornjerkers’ on the back. While I understand that the Jerky logo was created in 1965…..Hoopeston AREA High School was not established until 1986. In fact, it was officially Hoopeston High School until  July 1, 1973 when it became Hoopeston-East Lynn High School.

With so many board members and boosters proclaiming how proud we are of our beloved Cornjerkers; and Cornjerker merchandise supposedly being so sought-after that we have to copyright/trademark/register that sacred name to death……don’t you think whoever designs these t-shirts should at least be knowledgeable of the history of our school?

Maybe it’s just me…..but what’s up with this???? If we’re gonna market it, let’s at least get the facts straight, folks!!

Anyway, I’m still “drivin’ the dixie, as well as myself, crazy!” Rock-On!  :)
